Families Needed to Host Homestay Students
Elite Homestay is looking for families that are interested in hosting a
Japanese student, 16yrs old, for three weeks this summer, from July 20 to Aug 10.
They attend English classes and field trips during the week. This group
will use the facility at Christ College on 64th Ave near 196st. The stipend
is $630 for the three weeks. They are coming here to have the opportunity
to hear and practice speaking English. At sixteen they are a lot younger in
their demeanor than many of our own teen-agers. Many are shy and very eager
to please their host family. They love interacting with children of all
ages. Their time with the family gives them the opportunity to enjoy
relaxed Canadian life, such as watching movies, walking to the local parks,
shopping, eating pizza, learning to cook or bake Canadian favorites.
Carpooling can be arranged and accommodations for host work hours can be
arranged. Invite a neighbor or friend to host as well and you can do
activities on the week nights or weekends together.
